As written in ourĀ Mission Statement, the purpose of the Halton Service Office (HSO) is to help the still suffering alcoholic, to provide AA service to the community in the Halton Region areas, and to provide opportunity to allow people in Alcoholics Anonymous to provide 12 Step work to the still suffering alcoholic.

The Halton Service Office is in fact an Intergroup / Central Office that provides, meeting lists, AA related information and a telephone answering service to comply with our Mission Statement.

A.A. Guidelines on Central or Intergroup Offices

This document is produced by the General Service Office (GSO) of Alcoholics Anonymous. The following is a quote from this document. “The A.A. Guidelines below are compiled from the shared experience of A.A. members throughout the U.S. and Canada. They also reflect guidance given through the Twelve Traditions and the General Service Conference. In keeping with our Tradition of autonomy except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole, most decisions are made by the group conscience of the members involved. The purpose of these Guidelines is to assist in reaching an informed group conscience.”
